He grew up in Germany, his father from Austria, his mother from Bolivia, and has family in the US. He trained at the human rights committee of the German parliament and  ministry of foreign affairs. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and a boutique investment bank in London and New York City on international tax law.
